The news: Prime Video is the Blues' new local home

On Wednesday, Amazon announced that Prime Video will be the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams this season, including the St. Louis Blues. The others are the Ducks, Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Wild, and Stars. It resolves the question the Blues left open in July, when they announced the NHL would produce their local broadcasts but said the streaming details, including price, were still being worked out.

For most of these teams, the games are a paid add-on rather than a Prime perk. Stars and Ducks games come bundled with a Prime membership, but the Blues, along with the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, and Wild, are in the other group: their games cost $20 a month or $100 a year, and, notably, you don't need a Prime subscription to buy it.
