Streaming news roundup: Paramount+ lands Concacaf's club competitions, and the DAZN and CBS moves keep rolling

Paramount+ lands Concacaf's club competitions through 2030

CBS Sports and Concacaf announced a multi-year deal that makes Paramount+ the exclusive English-language U.S. home for the Concacaf Champions Cup, Central American Cup, and Caribbean Cup through the 2030 season — moving those rights off FOX, which held them previously.

The specifics: 137 matches a season will stream on Paramount+, including all 51 Concacaf Champions Cup matches, with select Champions Cup games also airing on CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports Golazo Network. Coverage begins in February.

Why it matters, especially if you follow MLS: the Concacaf Champions Cup is the tournament where MLS clubs face Liga MX and other regional champions, so when your team makes a continental run next year, Paramount+ is where you'll watch it. The deal also deepens what's quietly become one of streaming's most complete soccer lineups — Paramount+ already carries Serie A, the NWSL, and the UEFA Champions, Europa, and Conference Leagues.

DAZN's NBA rollout keeps moving

After the Timberwolves became the first team to finalize an exclusive local-streaming deal with DAZN last week, four more — the Cavaliers, Pacers, Spurs, and Grizzlies — are still expected to follow in the coming days. That builds on DAZN's confirmed deal to become the streaming home of MSG and YES Networks (the Knicks, Nets, Yankees, and four NHL clubs). The one number fans are still waiting on: what a standalone DAZN subscription will cost.

The CBS channel switches went live Saturday

The affiliation changes in six markets — Albuquerque, Jackson, Birmingham, Greenville/Spartanburg, Bismarck, and Rapid City — took effect August 1, as we flagged last week. If you're in one of those markets and use an antenna, a channel rescan should pick up CBS's new home. In four of them, CBS moved to a digital sub-channel, so if it's missing from your cable, satellite, or streaming lineup, check whether your provider carries that sub-channel.
