Blue Note+ update: where to watch Saturday's Blues game as DirecTV and Comcast remain without a deal

The Blues say DirecTV/U-verse and Comcast declined the NHL terms Spectrum and Fubo accepted. Here's where to watch Blue Note+ for Saturday's home game against Columbus.

The gist: Blue Note+ still isn't on DirecTV, U-verse, or Comcast/Xfinity, and on Friday the Blues said both providers have turned down the deal terms Spectrum and Fubo accepted. For Saturday's home game against Columbus (6 p.m. CT), Blue Note+ is on Spectrum, Fubo, and the Prime Video add-on. If you're new to Blue Note+, start with our launch post and our Fubo update.

What's new today

On Friday, October 9, the Blues posted a statement saying DirecTV/U-verse and Comcast "have declined to accept the same fair market deal terms" that Spectrum and Fubo agreed to in September. Here's what the team says:

  • One offer, four teams. The NHL made the offer on behalf of the Blues, Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Carolina Hurricanes. The Blues say both providers got the same terms Spectrum and Fubo accepted, and "there is no higher cost that has been put forth" to either one.
  • Comcast and the sports tier. According to the Blues, Comcast's current offer would put NHL games "on a more expensive sports pay tier" than the one where comparable sports are carried today. The team says that would mean an added fee for hockey fans.
  • Still open. The NHL and the Blues say they "stand ready" to sign the same terms with DirecTV/U-verse and Comcast.

That's the team's side. Comcast's Xfinity support page confirms it has no agreement with the NHL to carry local games for the four teams in the markets it serves. It says Comcast wants to offer sports to customers who want it, but "doesn't want to make each customer pay for it, especially those who don't watch." We didn't find a public statement from DirecTV. Separately, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported (via Sports Business Journal) that Dish also hadn't reached a deal as of Thursday afternoon.

Where it stands: no agreement with either provider, and nobody has given a timeline. We'll update this if a deal is announced.

Where to watch Saturday's game

Blues vs. Blue Jackets, Saturday, October 10, 6 p.m. CT. Inside the Blues' broadcast territory, the game is on Blue Note+ (Blues watch page):

  • Spectrum: on the Stream TV Pro, Stream TV VIP, and Select packages.
  • Fubo: on the Pro plan or higher.
  • Prime Video add-on: $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year inside the territory (Blues pricing, checked October 9, 2026). You need the add-on whether you're a Prime member or have a free Amazon account. No Prime plan includes it.
  • Smaller providers: the Blues also list Grafton Technologies (IL), Highland Communication Services (IL), Midco (KS), and Wabash Independent Networks (IL).

Outside the territory, the team says non-national Blues games are on ESPN+ in the ESPN app (with ESPN Select or ESPN Unlimited) or on NHL Center Ice. Both black out games inside the Blues' territory.

National games aren't affected. Blues games on TNT, ESPN, ABC, and ESPN+ aren't part of this dispute, and Xfinity says nationally televised games stay on the channels in your package.

The Blue Jackets and Hurricanes

  • Blue Jackets: In a Friday update, the team said its games are on Spectrum, Prime Video, and Fubo. DirecTV and, in Columbus, Breezeline were offered similar terms. The NHL is still talking with both, but neither has agreed. The team lists its Prime Video add-on at $19.99 a month or $99 a year, with no Prime membership required.
  • Hurricanes: In a Friday statement, the team said Hurricanes Hockey Network is on Spectrum, Prime Video, Fubo, and Comporium inside its territory. DirecTV was offered similar terms but hasn't agreed.

The Blues' statement says the offer was the "same" as Spectrum's and Fubo's. The Blue Jackets' and Hurricanes' updates say "similar."
